When I read through different fashion magazines in March, I found out most of them are promoting a metallic trend - Gold, Silver and Copper. During these two months, I saw designers are also following this trend. Metallic is a big hit now, and celebrities are following this trend too. However, this cyber style needs to be handled with great care. Putting metallic items from head to toe will be too much and too outdated.
Here are some works shown in the fashion weeks during these two months.
Louis Vuitton from Paris Fashion Week F/W07
Gorgio Armani from Milan Fashion Week F/W07
Chloe from Paris Fashion Week F/W07
And the followings are how some celebrities handle their metallic.
Cate Blanchett in Giogio Armani in her Oscar red carpet.
Hilary Duff in Dolce & Gabbana.
Rachel Weisz in Vera Wang gown in the Oscar red carpet this year.
Putting on metallic clothes in informal days sometimes will be too over. Therefore, I think using metallic accessories will be more appropriated. Moreover, if you really want to put on metallic color clothes, pair them with black or white items to keep your look balance.
Frame Clutch - Gold, Target, $14.99
Clutch is a big hit right now. In addition to ballroom, it is now popular in informal daytime activities.
Xhilaration Seascape Staked Bangle Bracelet, Target, $7.99
If you wear this kind of silver bracelet, then avoid putting on big necklace and ear rings because that will make you look too shinny and heavy.
Bandolino "Cattail" Pump, Macy's, $69.00
Pair it with a deep blue or black skinny jeans. Than you can be elegant but not over at the same time.
